America's only chance to save her Empire...........Return to a Gold standard
Just my view, no idea what Gold would have to be revalued at......but other wise in time the Empire will be gone..........
Mike
this is news? gimme a break, mega! google... fourth currency.
how about telling us... what's the uk going to do for a living without oil or finance? emerging markets will recover faster than the uk. then what? seriously...
punk rock, maggie thatcher, another north sea oil discovery... get on it!
what does the uk businesses have...
+ literate (can quote shakespeare)
+ well behaved (will stand in lines, tolerate police statism)
- terrifically bad management (master/servant class hangover)
- bloated social welfare system (entitled)
- anti-entrepreneur (too 'commercial')

Do they pay you to write headlines without any substance just to get people in? Seriously, you should get a commission. Someone with your talents could probably save the Boston Globe.

And . . . Nero3 noted the potential of emerging markets recently in Why Only Fools Think the Bottom Is In thread . . .
So, is there hope for South Africa to be less affected by the catastrophe that is unfolding ? We mine the gold that Mega (and others) are so fond of - and as far as "emerging markets" go we're quite organised for the African continent.
Pity about Zuma . . . and our Neighbour Magabe . . .
Not funny that the Chinese seem to be way ahead of investing in Africa and have considerable politcal clout here already.
