Re: Gen-B
Macroeconomically? Or socially?
On the former he has an established and admitted track record of over-optimism. But the over-optimism has only been with respect to magnitude and not with the direction of trends. And that is fine with me; amplitude is easy to adjust for and a good exercise for the reader.
Social impact and trends is an unknown. The simple answer is, as Zhou Enlai said to Kissinger, it is too soon to tell. I strongly agree with his statements that we will not find ourselves in a situation where guns and ammunition will be an economic advantage or requirement for survival. There is no example outside of Hollywood which points in that direction. And our most recent taste of social and political collapse, the Katrina devastation of New Orleans, suggests otherwise. Those stuck in the city and returning afterwards benefitted from initiative, adaptability, humility and a sense of community.
Though EJ has not layed out a social follow-on theory to Ka-Poom, he is clearly making an effort to stitch social factors and impact to our unfolding Ka-Poom event.
