It's very interesting. These feeling Mega is alluding to. Allow us, if we are sincere with ourselves to get a better understanding of ourselves. It would no doubt make a good thread. "What have you observed about yourself during your time on this board?" It is always better to just observe and not to place any judgement.

my observation is that those with good sense don't trust it and demand to be told what to do... and those with no sense trust it and tell everyone what to do.

There is a quality to the feelings we are sharing about our expectations of the future. How it makes us feel to be right at the expense of global prosperity. Maybe that isn't phrased right. But (Speaking for myself) if in the moment you observe yourself, it does have a certain sad quality that Mega spoke of.

Btw: Guest on CNBC analyist liked gold said "I would rather short bonds, but that market is fixed." What a comment and nobody said a thing.

What's to say? Bernanke stated openly that the Fed would manipulate the Treasury market "if necessary"...

uggh, my stomach hurts. this is too scarry for me, maybe i should allocate 30% to booze. i already have 80% in short treasury, 8% paper pm, 2% stocks, 10% AAA corp bonds of short mat.

This also deserves a separate discussion thread. Single malt vs sour mash? What is likely to be more tradeable for food in future, Johnnie Walker or Jim Beam?

Yes, this is truly astonishing. Considering how cautious, careful and composed EJ and Fred have been, it is alarming that they would now advocate increasing one's PM position, and entertain the possibility that gold will suddenly rocket beyond anyone's expectations. I think we ought to remember previous posts in which EJ has mentioned wealthy people who never would have countenanced gold as an investment contacting him to find out how to purchase gold. This implies that in addition to the expert analysis, they have much better knowledge of current buying trends than do most of us.

The recent adjustments to EJ's analysis, (e.g. buy more gold, and perhaps hyperinflation is possible) is perhaps the most important indicator of what may lie ahead. If also says, forget GLD, DGP, etc., buy the physical and hold it, in your anal cavity if you must.

I used to really enjoy this doomer porn stuff, but this latest warning from EJ stopped me in my tracks. His was the voice of calm and reason.

This is getting very serious and its accelerating.

I'm thinking Jack Daniels. Not too pricey, not too cheap and everyone knows what it is. It's going to be the $100 bill of the future.
