  • Robust Economy kicks Shiller to the Curb

    Folks,

A lawsuit should be pending for Shiller and Co as he is responsible IMO for one of the biggest losses of wealth in History. His random flailing of "facts" in regards to Vancouver was dead wrong.

You've really made quite the strawman out of Robert Shiller. He made a statement on ROBTv back in April of 2005:

The bubble is building in "glamour cities and glamour vacation areas" in the United States and Canada. Ominously, Prof. Shiller says that "Vancouver is the most bubbly city in the world." He says that city has a history of volatile housing prices but he doesn't see the same level of bubbliness in the rest of the country's housing market.
As far as I know he's not made any public comments on Vancouver since. One guy, one statement, and you think he's personally responsible for "one of the biggest losses of wealth in History"? Hyperbole. Vancouver housing prices have gone up nearly 50% since April of 2005. Doesn't seem like anyone payed any attention to him, except for you.
