    I love the plankton theory of the housing bubble/bust.

    Plankton are the lowest form of life in the ocean. They start the food chain. The smallest fish eat the plankton, bigger fish eat the smaller fish, bigger fish eat them, etc etc until you get to sharks and whales. But without the plankton, the foundation of the food cycle is gone, and all the bigger fish would cease to exist including the ones at the top of the food chain.

    plankton = first home buyers. No first home buyers, the ponzi scheme falls apart. bye bye housing boom, hello bubble bust.

    and yes you can tell i've been reading way too much of thehousingbubblebust.com. I'm absolutely addicted to that site.
