I remember about a year or so ago, one of the members there was commenting that the recession was mild and that it wasn't even close to what it was like in Ireland in the 1980s. He remembers a line for jobs at McDonalds going around the block.
Well, looks like those times are back.
Apparently 2000 people applied for 60 jobs at Londis yesterday. Londis is a handy small deli/supermarket type shop like Spar.
The only difference is that most of those applying appear to be non-Irish.
