  • Ron Paul Questions Paul Volcker - Feb. 26, 2009 (7min.)

Please skip to 1:10 to cut to the chase.

Also, is it me or Mr. Volcker looks quite tired? I am sorry to say, but he looks like well...an old man.

Why would Volcker decide to come back to work is beyond me: he should be enjoying life in Florida.

I wonder if anyone else attending that committee meeting had any concept of what they were talking about. I seriously doubt it.

I like at the end when Volcker laughingly agrees that he is ducking the question.

Has Ron Paul been soliciting eyewear fashion advice from Bob Barr?!?

Good clip. This is what I hear:

Volcker: The world is going on the basis of fiat currencies, and that's kind of what a lot of economists like, and they thought it was a good idea, and let them float up and down, and you don't get constricted by gold or other artificial arrangements, but it's a little tricky. If you're gonna [live?] in a world of fiat currency, you gotta pay attention to the stability of the currency and the maintainability of the currency, and I think we are inclined to forget about that.
