Henry hasn't changed a bit since he first appeared on the scene 40+ years ago. He looks exactly like he did then: OLD!

But seriously, he's an old cold warrior that is pretty good at moderating short term diplomatic disputes but has only an inkling of what is actually happening right now.

The world is passing through an major historical inflection point where many of the old models are failing and will give way to something new.

The analogy is the European black plague. It was horrific and almost wiped out western civilization but set the stage for the Reformation, the Renaissance, the Age of Enlightenment and the Industrial Revolution.

Being the chess king of the great geopolitical game, he calls this the "Age of Compatible Interest" thinking the process can somehow be managed. Hardly. In trying to manage the chaos, many old school institutions will just hasten their demise. Which is actually good, as it will open the way for new models
