  • Why We Fight

"Why We Fight is a series of seven propaganda films commissioned by the United States government during World War II to demonstrate to American soldiers the reason for U.S. involvement in the war...Most of the films were directed by Frank Capra."
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Why_We_Fight

[COLOR=Blue]The embedded documentary below was released in 2005 and was directed by Eugene Jarecki.

Please note that appearance of Chalmers Johnson, one the most brilliant military strategist in my view. His book Blowback - published before 9-11 - is astonishingly foretelling and is highly recommended.

The editing and soundtrack of this documentary is nothing short of masterful. Total duration; 99min. Warning: Graphic Content.
    Enjoy!

"Government planners figure they have found the magic formula for almost endless good times. They are now beginning to wonder if there may not be something to perpetual motion after all. Cold war is the catalyst. Cold war is an automatic pump primer. Turn a spigot, and the public clamors for more arms spending. Turn another, the clamor ceases. Truman confidence, cockiness, is based on this “Truman formula.” Truman era of good times, President is told, can run much beyond 1952. Cold war demands, if fully exploited, are almost limitless." U.S. News and World Report told its readers on May 14, 1950One month later, Korea

“What H-bomb means to business. A long period...of big orders. In the years ahead, the effects of the new bomb will keep on increasing. As one appraiser puts it: ‘The H-bomb has blown depression-thinking out the window." U.S. News and World Report 1954

cjppjc, as soon as I find a clip for wiaLW, you will be the first one to know.

I am assuming the same applies to wiacjppjc? ;) Or perhaps no clip is required?
