Citizens for Better Transit( http://www.bettertransit.ab.ca ) managed to secure a rare opportunity to have a free public presentation and Q&A with Toronto based consultant Dr. Richard Gilbert ( http://www.richardgilbert.ca/ ) on transportation, energy and land use in Edmonton:

Dr. Gilbert is going to talk about his research and insights into what will happen over the next few decades with the decline of petroleum production, the rise in prices, and how this will impact the way that we move people and goods and how we plan and build transportation systems. It is a very timely talk in view of the major transportation issues that Edmonton is grappling with in the coming weeks and months.
