  • Fun with Inflation

contains foul language, but if you can stand that then this is one of the funniest scenes you will ever see about inflation. Enjoy.
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye!

      kurt Russel, "Used Cars"

Bloor Cinema used to play that one week per year - we used to go see that and "Clockwork Orange" and whatever other movie they were playing .

One year it was Akira, with a bunch of high schoolers in the back shouting out memorized lines the whole time.

Jack Warden and one of the SCTV guys were in it - the guy who did the late night dracula host
One of the Jack Warden characters gets killed and buried in a car - the eulogy is a screamingly funny testament to car/consumer culture

The wife and I just picked up the DVD a couple of weeks ago and I found this youtube video this morning while looking around for some humor. Anyway, Used Cars - Spartacus nailed it.

The interruption of Carter was during the "malaise speech." Very funny.

Picked this little snippet up from Sinclair's JSMINESET website. The long anticipated highly inflationary future is apparently arrived.

              US M3 +18% - hyperinflation confirmed

I was shocked (although not really surprised considering the recent Fed pumping) that US M3 is now exploding at +18%. One definition of a (mild) hyperinflation is a +20% real M growth (calculated as the excess of M growth over GDP growth): since US GDP is now shrinking by more than -2%, we have now officially reached hyperinflation (inflation = +20%). Welcome!

P.S. Maybe Bart can confirm or refute this number.
