i was interested in the fact that a question was asked about possible currency controls. it's a bit odd to see "the news" finally pondering issues we've been kicking around for years.

Frankenstein Economy, March 2006: Forewarns of an inevitable banking system disaster that unaccountable lending will create.
Economic M.A.D., April 2006: Explains how the balance of economic terror keeps China from abandoning the dollar regime, but warns that accidents happen. The term "balance of economic terror" is subsequently adopted in high level policy circles.
Credit Risk Pollution, April 2006: Explains how banks have buried toxic credit waste all over the world for the past decade the way manufacturing companies buried chemical waste in barrels in the ground for decades. When it finally reached critical levels and create a credit crisis, a taxpayer funded toxic credit Superfund will be needed. Four years later we got TARP. The term "toxic credit" is born.

Three years ago (2007): read the latest iTulip posting, feel nervous, walk downstairs and pour glass of scotch while explaining to wife.
Two years ago (2008): read the latest posting, slight twitching by the end, scotch is now upstairs across from my desk. Wife pours wine for herself after explanation.
One year ago (2009): read Part I, pour scotch to have on hand before starting Part II. Wife now has wine when I start explanation, reads articles herself now.
Current (2010): Announce new posting up. Wife pours double shot for us both before we start reading
