Re: Chinese invent future food?
See - Fake Eggs are no Joke
An Insider’s Report: Man-made eggshells are made from Calcium Carbonate (CaCo3). The egg whites and egg yolks are made from the following materials: Alginic Acid, Potassium Alum, Gelatin, Calcium Chloride (with water) and artificial coloring.
If fake, the yolk will quickly break up when fried
Man-made eggs are manufactured with chemicals, most importantly through the calcification of Alginic Acid. (Editor’s Note: The actual formula described above for Alginic Acid is C6H8O6 + some form of Na, which we were unable to locate. If anyone has an idea about this particular molecule, feel free to add a comment!). Man-made eggs are basically solidified gel. Most of the ingredients are additives that are regulated under Chinese law. None of these additives have any health benefits; man-made eggs cannot be considered a viable alternative to natural eggs.
Many of the ingredients involved in the manufacture of man-made eggs come in industrial and commercial forms. Considering the extremely low cost price of man-made eggs, it is uncertain what form of these additives the manufacturers are using. Research has shown that long-term consumption of man-made eggs can lead to memory-loss and dementia.

But it looks so much like the real thing, even when cooked, and when done properly, taste better than the real thing, and best of all, the ingredients costs only 1 or 2 cents. You have to take your hat off to whoever invented this thing.
The Chinese have always believed that only live food is real and fresh. Fish must be alive and jumping in tanks, meat must have skin and bones attached, chickens must come whole with heads and feet. Fake eggs pass all the tests, it looks real, with the shell on, feels real and even cracks open like the real McCoy.
But thinking further, with some changes to the ingredients, replacing the poisoning stuff with more nutritious chemicals, this might even be the egg of the future, when the climate is destroyed and we need to start eating synthetic food. Synthetic food that looks real is more palatable.
The one of the left is fake.
Fake egg cracked open.
Boiled fake eggs

Yes, definitely, but you have to see that there's only a thin line between fraud and marketing. It takes a certain amount of business skill to defraud consumers in China when everyone is wary of frauds and fakes.
A lot of successful China business people start off as fraudsters, after they have gained capital, they move to "more legitimate" businesses, after all, you can't make big money by opening and closing shop every 2 months. lol
