Why is nobody talking about the real reasons for the whole AfPak adventure ?

And there's the full spectrum dominance Pentagon agenda - Afghanistan as part of the worldwide US empire of bases, monitoring strategic competitors China and Russia at their doorstep.

Obama simply ignored that there is an ultra-high-stakes new great game in Eurasia going on. So because of all that Obama did not say at West Point, Americans are being sold a "war of necessity" draining a trillion dollars that could be used to reduce unemployment and really help the US economy.

Steve Keen is great. Punchline, no real US GDP growth because of government malinvestment can't make up for private investment which is shackled by debt. He is still a deflationist, and doesn't see the US monetizing the debt in the end. I don't understand why someone so savvy wouldn't think the US will monetize when they (and their politicians) have the lever on the reserve currency. Why would you want to pay back China trillions in real dollars? Hah! Never happen, they get the shaft while we default through inflation. That doesn't even get into the impossibility of the US paying for its entitlements, but I digress.

People can't take any more debt . . . so the politicians will have to figure out other ways besides bank lending to get the money into the hands of the people. Banks don't like any ways that don't involve them making money, and since politicians are the lackeys of the Banks, they will resist getting any money to the people outside of debt creation.

Furthermore, if the government creates money out of thin air and gives it to the poeople, no wealth is being created. The money is being devalued, and making the banks poorer as people pay back their loans in devalued currency. The Banks wouldn't like that, either.

So, it seems to me that the banks would resist monetization, unless the newly created money is going into their pockets. Isn't this exactly what's happening now?

During the Cold War competiton between the two camps was quite keen in wooing 2nd world states into their orbits. Now de-stabilization is the name of the game- Iraq (done), Afghanistan (done), Pakistan (underway), Iran (underway), Venezuela (gearing up next door), China & Russia- the main events, just over the horizon.
