Newbie Question: As a Canadian joe-6-pack, how can I take advantage of the US Dollar Carry trade? We cant exactly just drive down to the States, create a bank account and ask for a $50K loan to invest in gold/oil/etc (can we!?)

Mr. Alchemist (;)), I fail to understand why someone would embrace leverage now. :confused:

Cash is to hedge against de-leveraging....while "gold/oil/etc." is to edge against currency risk.

I personally look forward to EJ (and of course the iTulip crew) to provide us with some guidance as to timing, but again my opinion is that leverage is not desirable at this time.
