More more more. The influence of bankers over Washington is being discussed more and more. In print and other media the word is getting out. Hopefully the president will show some leadership on this. And before someone tells me no way, I said hopefully.

Great video thanks for posting - so apologies for my now mandatory cynicism.

I thank god this corporate influence, brought to bear by lobbyist revolving doors, money etc, stops at the domestic domain, imagine what a f*cked up world we would live in if it was influencing geopolitical or cross national matters.

I also loved the bit where increduality is voiced for the lack of respect shown towards the president by the banking CEOs or the lack of gratitude to the "American people".

The general does not call the private sir, nor the master thank the slave.

Sorry, this is all just conspiracy, I will resume my viewing of Fox, CNN, BBC et al. forthwidth.

When you think about the global influence of the US and the global economy, is it plausible to assume that corporate influence stops at the domestic boundary? Not sure that boundary line can even be drawn in many cases.

Thanks, Rajiv, I will forward a link to my friends.

I took notes on this show, and I'm going to call my Congressional representatives and give them an earful.

In addition to informing them that I not going to vote for any incumbent unless I see them sponsoring and voting for reforms (and I'll read a list of the reforms I want), I will also say that I'm going to use my political donation money for those in Congress who stand up for what I believe in, regardless of their locale . . . . such as Marcy Kaptur, Grayson, Paul and Kucinich.

Sorry should have added  - the statement I had intended to ring with sarcasm - problem with the written word, beyond smileys no ability for intonation

I meant to say it with this intonation (Father Jack in the Series Father Ted, for those interested)

                  A political tip:

Calls are good -- but attending town hall meetings held by your representatives is better -- make contact with their aides

Write e-mails detailing your arguments. ( I have always gotten back very well thought out answers)

Ask intelligent questions -- Don't try oneupmanship

Become as knowledgeable as you can about the subject you want to influence. The persons who will have an impact on the reps decisions are the aides.

                  -------

As regards, the current crisis -- I think Itulip has given you a good background. Martenson's crash course is good. Also recently Diarmud posted a link to Greg Pytel's site, and I have been very impressed by his analysis of the current crisis. It is important that we have a very good basis and logic for our positions

A sound factual basis and good strong logic will almost always get you a hearing. It doesn't hurt if you have made a campaign donation (a small one will do)
