the money wasn't flowing back to us, there seems to be a blockage somewhere, we thought if we'd just add more money pressure it might clear the blockage.

Unfortunately there's so much fossilised deadweight shit in the system they're never going to unblock it, they're just adding to it.

Let's assume the Fed didn't give a penny to foreign CB's, would the short positions like Jim Rogers used to call them lead to a much stronger dollar then we have seen?
Or would the strains endanger the whole system?

Exactly - this was one of the better moves to reduce the short-dollar rush. I'm surprised Bernanke didn't make better arguments against it being a bailout, it's a swap.
