Not sure what you meant by "liberal trade killing us", but it looks to me that Monsanto and other GM producers certainly are. there is nothing really very "free" about Free trade. It´s really nothing more than an Orwelian phrase like the "department of justice" It´s a complex set of rules designed by special interest groups and there´s nothing "free" about it.
Good post. I have heard of Vandana Shiva and her efforts. I am going to look for the book she mentions. -

yeah she's very interesting. I think I might have got that quote from a different source actually. Here’s a quote of hers.

She describes it all as well orchestrated with MNC’s gearing up farmers to buy agrichemicals and GM seeds and then monopolizing the price of output with subsidized northen imports of great use in this endeavor. No wonder we northerners live so well with billions of people working for us for free.
Free markets the goose that laid the golden egg so to speak, what a farce. there’s more undernourished people now than there were 20 years ago. Nearly one billion people. Hayek Vindicated my arse!Comment
