    Frankl,

    Have you followed the MFFAIS site for very long? The giant Credit Suisse stockholding dump looks ominous.

    Unless it is them dumping their asset management division - and the divestiture being the switchover of said assets being managed.

    I dumped the 5/15 data onto Excel and the total is almost 1.4B shares sold - in 2,785 different companies.

      as my sig says, I have little clue (pun intended) about these things. I'm here to get some basic understanding and more specifically which kinds of economic theory not to take too seriously

      So are you saying Credit Suisse is up to something?
      engineer with little (or even no) economic insight

        Frank,

        Took me a while to import to Excel, but the total number of shares sold according to MFFAIS by Credit Suisse on 5/15 is nearly 1.4 billion shares.

        That's quite a lot.

        If the movement is due to CS spinning/selling a division, that I can see.

        If it is a divestiture to raise cash - where was the market reaction?

        Hence my question.
