If the general public start to believe that journalists are unreliable; we all lose. Our whole civilisation is based upon our receiving a true picture of events from journalists; if we lose that trust, then our civil society may collapse. Yes, we already know that there are news sources out there that have already sold their soul to the devil, but we know who they are and can take avoiding action. However, playing with fire, as they were, is taking our civilisation into totally uncharted territory and someone needs to sit them down and explain to them the seriousness of their actions.

If you fly aircraft, you also learn to recognise when others may be acting, let us say inappropriately, and you take them to one side and explain what they did wrong and how to avoid the problem in the future. We should use the same technique when faced with false journalism.
I completely agree and I quoted your post by mistake and I meant to quote the original video post.

You could almost argue one video is the cause and the other the effect. Providing intentionally falsified information or misinformation is the worst thing any journalist can do - the impact is not just an uninformed populace, they have no idea how uninformed they are. Those people may now play a part in choosing the next POTUS based on the fictional garbage this so called journalist just fed them.

Indeed. If you choose to challenge the integrity of the person who made that college student interview video you are free to do so by attacking her from behind an anonymous pseudonym on a website.

But consider this - Wouldn't the better way to challenge the validity of the study be to conduct one that either validates it or produces a contrary result.

If you doubt it's integrity what is preventing you from grabbing your cell phone and repeating this verbatim at your nearest college?

He's always interviewing people on the beach with fake petitions. AJ wanna be, soon to be, he hopes.

Wake up. There are not any journalists left. They've all become propagandists for the left and right. We now have the worst two candidates in American history.

The first post was from Texas Tech, a conservative location. So I show one just as biased from a liberal area. This is what has become of the media. It's all staged and slanted. The majority of people hate both right and left.

We need a third party of independents badly.

                      Trump keeps attacking fellow Republicans:

                      https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...mepage%2Fstory

He's already gone after Nikki Haley, Jeb Bush, and Mitt Romney and won't get their support. Now he attacks the Governor of New Mexico.

Is this political suicide or brilliant strategy? Certainly it's never been done before. We have to get out of the box in thinking there are only two parties. If there ever was a time for political realignment it is now.

Americans are angry. 60% want to replace ALL politicians. 42% identify as independents. Republicans are particularly upset with their leadership. Democrats are split between Clinton and Sanders, which delays Hillary.

What the hell is Trump up too? I believe he understands that both parties are so captured by their radical wings that nothing can get done. Trump thinks he can deal with them because if he is elected he can veto, but he can also make them compromise by coming up with more creative ideas.

If Trump can keep most Republican voters, who hate the establishment, and attract a large percentage of independents; Trump can win the election. Remember party loyalty is at an all time low.

Am I crazy or can you see what is unfolding? What is your take if you suspend your prior opinions from a year ago?

My only concern with Trump is that if he wins, Putin will attack Europe and in which case, Trump will sit on his hands and say, (sorry, repeat); if you want our protection, pay up. At that point; Europe becomes just another Syria.

So far there have 194 podcasts produced by longform.org. I consider almost all of the guests to be journalists in the highest sense. You would consider most of them liberal. I think very few of them are of the left.

putin will not attack europe. he wants to be europe's monopoly energy supplier and have western europe function as the tech sector of a virtually integrated eurasian entity.

he will not attack europe. he will seduce europe, make it both more dependent on and more afraid of russia, and ultimately make them an offer they can't refuse.

Seriously? Putin is not expansionist - NATO is. We overthrew the government in Ukraine - for better or worse, but that's another argument. And it looks like everyone has already forgotten the Turkish smackdown of Russia.

If anything, what Trump has mentioned should light a fire under the EU's ass so they can start moving towards full integration - that includes fiscal and military federal bodies. An EU Army is necessary, both in terms of geopolitics, and burden sharing within the EU. The US should be an EU partner, not a parental figure.

Europe is not becoming Syria any sooner than the US is becoming Mexico.

The Libertarian party will be on every state presidential ballot this fall. It's the only 3rd party to do so.

The Libertarian convention is this weekend. Former NM governor Gary Johnson wants to become the presidential nominee but there are others trying for that as well. Johnson is socially liberal and fiscally conservative- although not as fiscally conservatinve as the hard-core Randians- thank god! Unfortunately the MSM makes sure that he is known for his stance of being pro drug legalization and little else.

The Libertarians are under no illusion that they have a chance of winning. They are trying to reach a threshhold to be allowed in the fall presidential debates.
