    +1
and the ONLY reason that hitlery has em buffaloed with bullshit?

IS BECAUSE THE LIB-DEM RUN LAMERSTREAM MEDIA (the op/ed depts at the very least) HAVE FLATLY REFUSED TO FOCUS ON WHATS REALLY BEEN GOING ON:

People are so weird about celebrity worship. Adding in the religious angle like the person in your signature picture just raises the bar. It's so surreal for me to think that this woman actually believes that Jesus Christ sent some boorish rich guy to "save" America.

It's like the religious right version of the Obama supporter saying she won't have to worry about paying her mortgage or putting gas in her car once Obama's elected. "If only my preferred candidate wins all of my problems will be solved overnight!"

In the article below Paglia, who supports Sanders, discusses the Hillary cult.

But there is much more going on here than just the Hillary vs. Trump race we are likely to see. It's been out there for quite a while but is not being discussed by the media. The fact is that a large majority of Americans hate both parties. Both the Democrat and Republican parties may be history within the next couple of Presidential cycles.

Sanders get his support from maybe up to 45% of Democrat voters in the primaries and Trump gets maybe 40% of Republicans. This means that Hillary really has solid support of a maximum of 25% of all voters and Trump maybe 20% if they had to run against a viable third party candidate, that person could take 40% or more of the total vote.

Hillary and Trump are two of the most disliked candidates in history. Hillary's unfavorable level is 52% while Trumps is 55%.

I don't see any third party candidate but am open to suggestions. But we are sure of this: Americans are angry and Sanders and Trump are appealing to that anger. It's not that they are seen as potentially good Presidential material; it's they are the only way to channel the immense anger.

While I don't expect it this race may not be over. Some unexpected series of events and personalities may still play a part.

Hillary vs. Trump? How boring. How sad.

I'd like to see Clinton indicted and the Dem nomination go to Sanders. Sanders vs Trump would be anything but boring. Personally, I'm expecting a lot of plane crashes and/or sudden heart attacks.

BTW, vt, that article you posted on how the Democrats are becoming the party of the 1% was a good find. Thanks for posting it.

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Well that would be nice if someone changed the course we are on. It seems to me there are very few "conservatives" who seem to find the endless wars a problem, and "liberals" don't seem to care that much either. Maybe we've just all gotten so used to them, they seem normal?

If Trump is elected he'll side with the military industrial complex because there is so much money for him to make backing the trillion dollar spenders.

                Defense budgets:

                https://www.americanprogress.org/iss...fense-budgets/

Note: Where is Kennedy and Johnson on this list? What's being hidden about the cost of the Vietnam War?

Trump wants a strong military to project strength, but he doesn't rattle the saber of war like other Republicans. Plus he wants our allies to pay their fair share. Maybe he'll take eisenhower's view of the military industrial complex.

Note how much Obama has spent on defense.

Johnson created the unified budget to hide the cost of the war. Social Security ran a surplus and Vietnam was causing a deficit. The unified budget created a budget where the surplus hid much of the war deficit. Every president since has enjoyed the same privilege.

                    Got it, thanks.

Iraq was a bad mistake and cost way too much. I'd be frightened to know how much Vietnam cost in today's dollars. And very sad what it cost in lives. I lost a couple of good friends back then. Neither war was in our vital national interest and Iraq, 2003 was a colossal geopolitical mistake.

Every president has to live with that reality and every president accommodates it with varying degrees of enthusiasm.

The same industrial complex that creates fighter jets can create civil transports. The war industries can be switched to productive uses and persons under contract as soldiers and generals can be made workers and managers. There's no reason why it can't happen ever. Human decisions brought us here and we can decide something different.

The future is emergent and none of us know what comes next. Our opinions about what someone else will or won't do is as good as any other's, so we really can't know how The Donald would govern.

For now I'm focusing on the outcomes I think are best for the country at this moment in history and for me that's Bernie Sanders. But better it be Trump than Hillary.

since this is a financial/economic website, i'd like to insert the following: given that i think trump will win, and given how much he's talked about having a strong military, and given the clarity with which he's said that policy will be driven by generals and not diplomats or the foreign policy elite, i think i may move some of my equity exposure specifically to military contractors. anyone have any thoughts about the financial wisdom of such a decision?

On what, why I think Sanders is the better choice for America? Or why I'm I'd prefer Trump to HillBill?

Some Trump supporters seem to think (hope?) that a lot of his more outrageous statements are just to attract certain voters or get news coverage. He doesn't really mean that. And they point out his expertise in Persuasion.

I wonder how they always assume he's not lying about the issue they care about. If his expertise is telling people what they want to hear in order to get what he wants, why should we think we know what he wants to do? In your case, can we be sure he will support a strong military?
