I would pick euro socialism over current America's fake capitalism anyday.

This fake capitalism has brainwashed the U.S.A to the same extent that fake communism brainwashed the U.S.S.R - but both were infact a form a plutocracy in my opinion.

The real question is - can capitlism return to America or must we move to socialism first as a lesser of two evils.

Most people have this concept of Left and Right - this is a false metaphor because "socialism" can be closer to "capitalism" then what we have today - that is, a move in the correct direction.

We need to get people to STOP thinking in terms of "Left" and "Right" as if these things run on some linear scale.

Sometimes we live too much in our heads. Two Presidents since WWII have used Freedom as rhetorical pivot: Jack Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.

In Kennedy's speech at American University:

"So, let us not be blind to our differences - But let us also direct attention to our common interests and to the means by which those differences can be resolved. And if we cannot end now our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity. For, in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children's future. And we are all mortal. "

A conscriptive cartel is a constriptive cartel. You can call it what you want. Health Care today in the US is a group of insurance companies forming a cartel. If you are on the inside you get a prescribed solution. If you are on the outside you get nothing because you can't afford the cartel prices.

Sound like freedom and free markets to you?
