Peter's a bright guy and he's realized a little late that the best kind of job is a government job.

1.No results required!
2.Great Health Care Plan!
3.Meet lots of influential people who can set you up financially (1) with a cheap Mortgage (Chris Dood) or (2) investment tips (Hillary's ability to turn $1000 into $100,000 through trading futures - amazing for a first timer).
4.Office space and Office staff paid for by the Tax Payers of the USA.
5.A Great Defined Pension Benefit Retirement Plan (try finding that in the dreaded Private sector)

Certainly Government work is a lot less stressful than Managing Other Peoples Money.
