No argument here, except to say it's much harder get this done in the U.S. than it may look.
For hospital groups, insurance companies, and physicians groups, this the hill they are willing to die on.
I remember clearly when the health insurance industry spent millions to defeat it, including the famous "Harry and Louise" ads in 93 and 94
The US for-profit healthcare industry is vastly rich and owns many things. In 1994 it owned a few democratic senators and defeated universal healthcare in the U.S.
Politically the defeat was pretty costly to Clinton and the democrats, and was probably at least one factor in Hillary's defeat in 2016.
