What an absolutely superb series. Truly my favorite of all time. Though it pained me that it had to end, at least it ended as it did and that is with excellence. I will also say I am extremely happy it ended as it did between Buffy and you know who. It is something I had been looking forward to ever since I thought it might occur. Made me cry.

I'm thinking about actually just waiting a month or two, then starting back with Buffy and then watching Angel lock-step with Buffy as it was meant to be done. I think that will be the best approach.

So did I! I'm curious what you'll think. Angel (the series) is quite different from Buffy (the series).

Buffy is mainly about the difficulties of growing up. Buffy plays with the horror genre and uses monstors as metaphors for our inner fears. Angel is film-noir; it explores themes of redemption.

The site I linked to earlier for Buffy reviews has similar reviews for Angel. They're fun reading.

Watched the first episode today! I quite like it so far. And it has possibly my favorite kill in the Whedonverse. "Can you fly?" YAR!!!
