Both! Also, amazed how things ended with 'Intervention.' Who knew that would be the episode things would finally turn around for our star and the 'villain?' Not to spoil too much for anyone else. Absolutely love that show. Best show of all time.

I am just immensely sad that I am getting closer and closer to the end of the series. Only about 48 episodes left now and I don't want for it to ever end.

Is this your first time watching Buffy? If so, I'm excited for you, getting to experience it for the first time. It's quite a ride!

Don't despair that it ends. Buffy never ends, it cycles! Sure, you'll never get to experience the excitement of watching it for the first time again. But Buffy's like a great piece of complex and beautiful music. You don't listen to your favorite song only once, do you? Buffy's like that. All of Joss Whedon's series are like that.

My set is pretty much in permanent rotation on my DVD player. Lost track of how many times I've seen it but I discover something new every time. Different themes, different lessons, even different jokes jump out at me depending on what I'm going through in my life. If, when you finish it you start it over again, you'll be amazed by how much the characters grew over the seven years and how much foreshadowing there was.

Here's a fun Buffy site. Don't jump ahead unless you like spoilers:

              Re: This is it?

I've had several false starts over the years, but this is the one that really stuck. Not sure why I had the false starts, but I am kind of glad I did. Yeah, I definitely intend upon watching it again; however, not before watching Angel next! It will be kind of sad to see familiar faces reappear here and there, though.

But man, oh man, is this show spectacular. You are right about how much all of the characters grow. Well, 45 episodes left now!

                Re: This is it?

Well, only 18 episodes to go now. Really bothering me that it is going to be over with soon. Season 6 was considerably darker than the previous seasons, which was both good and bad. The season was imbalanced in a way. It had some amazing episodes (Once More, With Feeling and Tabula Rasa), but then it kind of hit a lull mid-season. It seems like the new writers were a little impatient. Still, I think they did a great job overall and it was a wonderful season that deserves as much praise as any other. I kind of surmised what was going to happen and who the 'Big Baddy' would turn out to be and how it would happen. And man, it rocked.

Four episodes into season 7 and it has been great throughout. Just quite forlorn at losing this show. Reality doesn't do much for me anymore and these little fantasies are something to keep a person going.

                  Re: This is it?

In season 6 the "Big Bad" is basically life itself wearing our heroes down. It's probably my favorite season, in spite of the weakness in mid-season. Along with OMWF, Normal Again is one of my favorite episodes. Sarah Michelle Geller is just a phenomenal actress, don't you think?

I don't know why, but the 7th episode of each season is often a standout. Seaon 5 was Fool for Love, season 6 had OMWF, and in season 7 it's Conversations with Dead People. Enjoy!

                    Re: This is it?

Yeah, that's a good way of putting it. It was wonderful seeing them deal with the darker aspects of their characters. Normal Again was superb and I think it marked the end of the mid-season lull. SMG is superb along with the rest of the cast. They really sell it to you, but yeah, SMG pretty much always hits the right note.

                        Sacriledge! But you're forgiven ;-)

Anthony Head, Emma Caufield and James Marsters are my favorite actors/characters of the bunch.

They are so perfect for their roles. Each actor embodies their role so well that you couldn't imagine anyone else for that role. And you wouldn't want to.

I think my favorite episode with Marsters was season 3 when he came back briefly. It was so wonderfully Spike. I laughed my ass off.

But yeah, Mega, Dark Willow was sensational. She oozed power.

I started the pilot episode several years ago, but quickly concluded that it was too intense for my then-12-year-old son. Now that he handles the zombie apocalypse of Walking Dead and the extremely dark side of human nature in Breaking Bad, I think he's ready for Buffy.

                                Maybe this weekend . . .
