  • Mega's dispatch from England

.........or from Planet ZIRP as EJ would say...........

    My Friends.........& Metalman.
I thought it would be timely to post a few obsevations i made resently over here in Blighty. Yes "They" are trying to blow another house price bubble, but they had little more than a "Dead Cat bounce". The welfare changes are slowly gaining pace, it is delightful to see SO many for sale signs up in the local town & see so many of them are "No chain".

Indeed we had a very large number of houses for sale for a few years now, yes they bloody expensive & guess what........they are NOT selling. I think the only way they get anywhere near that price is if they print a SHED full of cash. Sadly (Snigger) if they do that they get a shed full of inflation. True they can just prtend that its not there & refuse to put up rates to stop HPC (House price collaspe).

Sadly (Giggle) if they do that ALL the prices paid for fuel/heating/food etc will rocket & Mr & Mrs average is going to find that they can't pay the home loan back anyway.........so much the same effect as higher rates.

I am also delighted to report that the cuts to mobilty cars are hitting home hard. It was not long ago that i see a 20 something year old driving a BRAND new BMW or Audi etc because his girl friend (Well one of them) had an ingrowing toe nail......or she was depesssed! Yes they couldn't piss away the Northsea Oil money fast enough.

Well am seeing lots of new OLD cars about the place, cars that i had thought had long since left this world for the get highway in the sky. 20 year old models are not uncommon & its possable to see cars that are older than their drivers in day to day use.

We still have a long way to go my friends, but having to live for the last 10+ years on "Planet ZRIP" its nice to see the market trying to break though.

The Benefit Cap is just starting to be rolled out limiting the maximum total benefits people can get to what the average working person earns (over £34000 ($51000) before tax).

Now this link has been created (as long as the Conservative remain in power) it will hopefully be held down as really the fair amount of benefits to pay to someone who does not work is the minimum wage (or just below).

Meanwhile Labour is thinking of making benefits a 'human right'. I guess this will take the entitlement culture to the next level.
