  • Lost in plot, mega's sci-fi reveiw

A friend posted me this link, like me he into sci-fi:-

I thought it might be good, it stinks........which is a pity because they might have had something here. The people whom wrote & made this effort might be wondering why it was rejected, let me enlighten them.

Apart from the poor acting, piss poor production values & "Blakes 7" sets & aliens that are just blokes in rubber suits right from a 1950's "B" movie (yes i know it was just a tester, but even so) it was the loss of one of the most important charcters.....PENNY.

They proberly thought that it was a mistake to have a young teenage girl in the 60's TV series & the film. They grew up in a house hold like mine & found that young teenage girls (like my sister) are NOT into sc-fi, they thought better to just have the older sister as some sort of two-timeing bitch whom can't make her mind up who to shag.

while this might be more down to earth it totally missed the point by a mile.

The "Penny" Charactor in lost in space was JAIL-BAIT........she was not there to atract young female viewers, she was there to pull the PEDO market. Lost in Space was a "Family" show, thus they needed to pull the head of the household & sadly LOTS of middle age married men harbor rather sad little feelings towards young teenage girls.

He might try to say he only watches it because of the kids, well yes part true. The 1960's producers fully understood this & their mercenery minds quickly sussed to pair up DR Smith with penny.

When making moden Sc-fi its no longer enough to sing "God bless America" in a spacesuit, you need to be mercenary.
