Yes they just BEGGING to buy last gen fighter jets, with fleets of F15's just sat around......this is bulsh1t. BAE has only one customer now & thats the British goverment.......thats broke. Its going to be like the fall of the USSR.........BRING IT ON!

That's very, very, very strange.

Typically, weapons and service contracts between the US/UK and Saudi and the other Oil States serve a couple of purposes:

1) Petro dollar recycling....we buy you're oil....you buy what we make.....weapons mostly

2) Means of royal family and insiders to get a big taste of the contract as the pricing is usually far higher per unit than to other customers

3) Western weapons keeps them on a western leash

To me it seems highly unusual that the price wasn't set FAR earlier.
