That does not look that bad, the rate of overall borrowing is on a downward trend.

Stores like Comet are going bust so either consumers are finding better deals elsewhere or are they are spending less.

The Job market has held up pretty well, we still have our triple A rating.

Things could get ugly, but I remember worse in the 80's....
