        hehehe

thanks Darmiud - now I don't have to enter into Lukester's debate . . . for those who have not had a PM from me . . . 90% of the words that I have received over the last decade are negative, 7% are neutral and 3% are positive.

it'll be interesting if the iTulip community reflects something similar . . .

I'm not sure what it will be but I'm sure it will be in all caps with lots of exclamation points.

Lukester, you make very good points and I do in fact agree with all of them.

However, if the greed and avarice of man is used as instrument to obliterate in a single instance the very thing that has made our progress so unique, then that deserves one word...

              Fail

I don't understand you guys. You are looking at today's global economic disaster as though it were the end of the world. The big disasters in history have always looked this way, when seen up close. Try imagining yourself looking back on the "crash of 2008" from 2018, and you'll get some perspective as to whether the future is to be regarded as pure doom. What exactly has been "obliterated in a single instant"? Wall Street? That's supposed to be the showstopper for the entire history of man?

                  first choice "lost"

second choice "trapped" (my other theory that the planet is a prison)

                  third choice: "uninformed"

                  fourth choice "dullified"

                  more choice "easily led"

                  more choice "hidden gems"

                  more choice "owned"

                  more choice "cattle"

more choice "stars/characters" (hence my theory on the planet being an intergalactic zoo. The joke's on us.)

                  more choice "multiple personality"

Lukester, FWIW, I agree with your sentiment.

My beliefs that sacred institutions can be spared and not adulterated by those that wish to muddy the waters for personal gain.

I no longer have confidence in what I see every day around me. I grew up in a bubble that people are generally good and intelligent, and that humans look out for one another.

And I come to find out that they mostly do it for their own reason, to make themselves feel righteous, and to dominate those that disagree with them. That sense of moral degradation in the system that I was raised in, is the essence of what I'm saying.

Perhaps "Innocence lost" is the correct phrase?

They're all a bunch of manic depressives around here. Not "doomers" mind you - just really, really, really depressed about our general prospects.
