  • GOP Saturday Address - Senator Judd Gregg - Bizarro World

How is anyone that can think, walk and chew gum at the same time supposed to take the GOP seriously?

    (That's a rhetorical question)

This is one of the more insulting things I've ever heard from a politician. We're just supposed to forget what the GOP did during the Bush reign of borrowing and spending terror?

Disclaimer: Having lived only in Massachusetts and California and usually voting against the incumbents, I tend to vote Republican when I do vote....

So your concern is not whether this current speech is right or wrong, but that it is contrary to the big spending done increases of the Bush terms?

      No.

I've been fooled by the GOP before and it won't happen again, but this spendthrift act that they're putting on is fooling many folks and that is my concern.

Why, do you believe them? If so I've got a million cliches about gullibility to follow up with.

This phony, Republicrat piece of shit Senator Gregg, voted in favor of the original TARP bill, not once, not twice, but thrice!

When exactly did he become an economic conservative?

        Agreed ... it's an act.

Power corrupts, and the massive power concentrated between Washington, DC and New York, without precedent in human history, is massively corrupt.

        Lies, deceipts, and disingenuous deceptions.

My outrage is fading into impotence, as I look for healthier, alternative, local ways to involve myself in this life for the remaining years allowed me.

and so, when one sees that the actions they have taken are not working,
or that the facts of past spending have proven to be fallible, they are not
          allowed to choose another course?

get a clue. Republicans drank from the Potomac and went spending happy
when they should not have. Now they see Obama following the same path
and having learned from their ways want to stop the insanity.

Whyis ridiculous liberal spending any better than ridiculous conservative
          spending?

Get a clue? You must be an internet only tough guy to talk like that.

And what is your excuse for not knowing about the Republican Revolution circa '94?

And who said that liberal spending is any better? Not me, not ever.

Senator Gregg voted in favor of the TARP for third time in late January.

If you think that Gregg or any of the other GOP veterans that voted to authorize the TARP learned a lesson between now and then, and this isn't simply an election ploy for 2010 and 2012 than you're one of two things; either one of the most gullible and ignorant people on the planet or a dishonest employee with the GOP.

If the GOP does well in those elections and I'm proven wrong about their motives, I will be the first person to announce that from the rooftops and will support them with actions, words and cold hard cash.

Most likely to win elections, secure their financial future and that of their family members.

Ever heard of lobbyists? Ever heard of the revolving door?

Sounds like someone needs a refresher course on American corruption.

Re: GOP Saturday Address - Senator Judd Gregg - Bizarro World

                      Absolutely none of the above.

But I am gonna take a guess here that you are a supporter of the Left
(correct me if I am wrong).

What I fail to understand about the Left nowadays is they way they
attempt to justify the outrageous spending proposed under Obama
Admin by whining about the ridiculous spending of the Bush Admin.

They are BOTH equally bad, though Obama may end up making the
Bush spending look like chump change when he is done.

So what is it you are so incensed about? That a Republican is calling
for fiscal conservancy again? Certainly no one on the Democrat side
is calling for it at this time. You think we should just try to spend our-
                      selves into bankrupcy?

If Babbitt denies being a supporter of the Left, I probably will not believe him.

He already told you he tends to vote Republican.

But don't let that stop you from the Rush Jr. act.

He said he voted Republican in California and Massachusetts. Some rather liberal citizens vote thus. Also it is commonplace, as listeners to Rush's EIB network know, for leftist callers to claim that they vote Republican, by way of falsely inflating their credibility for ripping conservatives a new one.

It's a good thing that this thread is already filed in the 'Rant and Rave' section. That saves my recommending to the iTulip forum moderators that it be moved there.
