DES MOINES, Iowa – Following publicized reports that the Army National Guard was planning a military training exercise on the streets of a rural Iowa town, the commanding officers have called off the mock "invasion."

The Guard had planned a four-day urban military operation in tiny Arcadia, Iowa, population 443, sending troops to take over the town and search door-to-door for a suspected weapons dealer.

The exercise was designed as a mock scenario to give soldiers the skills needed for deployment in an urban environment, and military officials stressed that only households that consented to be part of the drill would be searched.

      ...

Military spokesman Lt. Col. Greg Hapgood, however, told WND that the operation has now been "scaled back" and no longer involves an "invasion" of Arcadia.

      it's all fine now.......

Example #1, using 9/11 to leverage the atrocity known as The "Patriot" Act.

Yeah, cause this thread is really a beacon of logically supported arguments. Like your suggestion that only someone in the upper echelon of government could be in a position to debunk this one. And your initial comment to me wasn't flippant?

The logically supported argument is this: (1) no conspiracy of such magnitude could possibly be undertaken in secret; and (2) the alleged conspiracy at hand is similar in character to other alleged conspiracies that were equally absurd on their faces and proved, in time, baseless, as this one will surely be.

don't the number and complexity of conspiracy theories direct relate to the amount of free time available? We've got more than anyone anywhere at any time.

Look North to Canada if you doubt this scenario. The police even have "amnesty" events where persons with unlawful arms may turn them in @ the local constabulary.

              Lets see...
President's office claims above laws & provides protection for accomplices
Guts inalienable rights from constitution & subverts or ignores other aspects
Financial system (top down) allowed to rape and pillage the working classes
Markets crashing, mass-layoff's, unemployment & hard times projected
              Europeans demonstrating/rioting

And you would doubt that the govt. would attempt to disarm the public if it were feasible?

How many different ways do people need to get beaten & taken advantage of before they recognize that they are perpetuating the situation & assuring of future beatings by further empowering their tormentors?

Its been said that: To repeat the same course of action over and over, and to expect a different outcome is (akin to) madness. What variable(s) will make things different this time?

There are millions of gun owners in Canada who haven't registered, and there are millions who have. Periodically there's an amnesty designed to get the unregistered to come forth and register, as happens sometimes in jurisdictions in the U.S. with gun registration requirements (eg, District of Columbia). I don't see how this supports the notion that there's a government out there trying to seize our firearms, whether in Canada or the States -- let alone the hyperventilating about beatings, rapes, and enabling those who are gutting our fundamental Constitutional freedoms.

                  Jeesh.

I've only got a bit of time for sport on a Saturday afternoon. Now it's time to get out of this insane bit of threadery.

Come on guys, you're being crazy here. Calm down. There's no reason to jump off the deep end and leave Germany, there is no big conspiracy here and besides I have a good job at the bank and a nice home here in Berlin and a close group at the synagogue. It's the 20th century for goodness sake, not the dark ages, we live in a civilized country. You know, if you think socialism is so terrible and the Nationalsozialismus party is so aweful why don't you go live in Poland with the terrorists and see how much you like that! I'm staying here, I think the 1940's are going to be a good decade for the fatherland. Sheesh.

Oh... you must have missed the conspiracy of 25/12....?

You know - the one where adults all over the world lie to their children about a fat man, who travels in a magic sleigh, pulled by reindeer, and enters homes via the chimney?

Nah... that would take co-ordination, everyone would need to know in order to be complicit.

                        Next....

You've got to be kidding. So your self-evident argument is this: Adults can fool children about Santa Claus, therefore the USG can fool the population of adults about the nefarious plot to confiscate our guns?

(Besides, only the Christian children are fooled. Jewish and Muslim kids know the whole thing is a crock.)

Yes, I believe that is actually the definition of the word, "insanity." I am glad to see that some of my fellow ituliper's share my perspective.

The Nazi takeover of Germany was not a secret conspiracy. It was out in the open, plenty of people saw it coming and got the hell out. It's no more analogous than is the Santa Claus lark that someone else cited peremptorily.
