I "went to the dark side" on this issue a long time ago. If you are a competitive target shooter in Canada - the sheer amount of paperwork, courses, registrations, memberships etc. req'd just to own a handgun are disgusting ... and an obvious attempt to control your rights.

The Canadian Gov't won't even sponsor Biathletes - as their sport involves guns (so I've been told).

You can always go to http://www.nfa.ca/ and support your rights.
