Metalman - I've been searching back through your (voluminous) comments for those instances where Fred reprimanded you to respect others. Not many, but I believe more than one. To tell the truth, what fatigues me in your regard more is your incessant casual-arm-waving dismissals of the validity of pretty much anyone other than A) iTulip and B) that very, very small coterie of mainstream economists iTulip will endorse for you.

You talk of open windows and fresh air. When I read your constant, constant endorsements of iTulip, and the almost ubiquitous iTulip quotes inserted in every other post I feel a yearning for someone to "open the window" into a new day, when other's introducing posts of extraneous opinions do not draw your summary and peremptory debunks as regularly as clockwork.

"Groupie" is a bad word, and I must not use it. But the over the top constant endorsement of iTulip and the "barking dog syndrome" clockwork denunciation of the vast majority of other analyst postings - why do you do this? It's overload. It becomes white noise after a while. One yearns to see you exhibit a more adventurous, independent curiosity as to wisdom provided from other sources, which could only enrich these pages.

It's like a planter on your terrace. It's got a nice geranium in it. If you insist on potting it with exclusively iTulip mulch after a while the soil quality becomes too homogenous. Get the point? This is why I occasionally indulge in the "metal-fatigue" nickname.

i'm sure i've earned my way onto more than one member's 'do not read' list. that's what it's for. there are a few members on mine, but not many. the feature is the equivalent of getting up and moving to another table at the itulip bar and grill, away from a person you don't care to listen to. i bet you have posted your way onto a list or two of your own, too.

even though i don't like your behavior, i do like a lot of what you write. you won't see me disparaging you or anyone else here. know why? only the weak hide behind the anonymity of an internet forum to deliver insults to another forum. i see someone say things on a forum they'd never have the guts to say to another person to their face... the more assertive the character in the net, the more of a wimp in real life, i find.

Luke, probably sometimes I go out of my way to give you a ration of shit, but I'll admit your post above is quite good and "on the money." You are one tenacious son-of-a-gun, and at times that too almost evokes my admiration (at other times you can become a bore). I think "metal-fatigue" is extremely clever. Good work.

Metalman. Why not lay down the keyboard for a day or two? Presumably here you are (once again) extolling the brilliance of iTulip's investment stance? [ yawn ].

I expect various asset classes will experince ups and downs over your, EJ's and my lives. If one is to double, treble, etc. one's wealth during these moves, one must trade. Alternatively one can hunker down into whatever seems to be a good hunker-dooey.

huh. interesting you'd read it that way. you are correct... does appear to be the case that those who put the most effort into arguing with itulip's positions are... coincidentally... the very same who also report big losses in 2008... with the exception of symbols who reports big gains... after the fact, however... don't recall that he reported starting positions such as in tbills/gold in 2007 then compared those to actual results end of 2008. we can all take his word for it.

you still long stocks? you were arguing last few weeks for a big rally...

Metalfatigue - I've been following Schahrzade Berkland's blog and her former frequent posting on Rich Toscano's http://piggington.com/ for the past five years. Now for goodness sake will you please hang it up with the "who's been better, who's been earliest, huh? huh?" one-upsmanship? Your harping on the perfection of iTulip themes has me ready to jump out of a window. Do us a favor old sport - go and pour this obsessive touting into someone else's ear!
