Satire edges reality by a nose in the last lap

iTulip has posted numerous laugh-out-loud satires over the years... (that's ROTFLMAO to the younger set)...

...but "real", full-time satirists are struggling mightily to keep lampooning a reality that's so absurd it defies satire.

"'The Federal Government... is deeply insolvent and urgently requires a bailout from the Federal Government,' said Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson."




I also thought this one was a classic... it lacks the sophisticated analysis of an iTulip article, but this is really the perspective from the man-on-the-street:

Note that the above "Private Eye" comic came out back in July. Not as prescient as iTulip, but a good two months ahead of most media "experts".
