This sort of news deserves a Mega sorta thread title.

Who sez America doesn't make anything any more? What could be a better indicator of the return of the Productive Economy than this? And with FIRE (in the form of Apollo Capital) doing it's part to support the American economy (and waistlines). No wonder the Fed is considering tapering.

Twinkies Set to Make 'Sweetest Comeback' in July

Twinkies will soon be making a triumphant return to store shelves, according to Hostess' website.

The company, which went bankrupt in 2012 and is under new management, is touting the return on July 15 as "the sweetest comeback in the history of ever."

Hostess is now owned by the private equity firms Apollo Global Management and Metropoulos & Co.

"America wanted Hostess back -- they wanted the original. Very soon consumers will once again be able to enjoy Twinkies, CupCakes and other great Hostess snack cakes. A comeback by any other name could never be as sweet," Daren Metropoulos, principal of Metropoulos & Co., said in a statement to ABC News.

Fans were devastated when Hostess was forced to close its doors and shut down its Twinkie production last year...

... and that down here in Mexico you can get the lookalikes ("submarinos" and "tuinkys") on vanilla, chocolate, strawberry (on tuinkys with cream) and blackberry with cream (only submarinos and seasonally) ...

reminds me of something i used to get in NH: carré feuilleté (the square thing in the middle of the page)
the most incredibly delicate/flaky pastry in a package that i ever had - before or since the late80's when i left for Fla - have looked for them everywhere since, but to no avail

wonder if metalman has seen em anywhere lately?

you should be able to find mille feuilles in most bakeries. only here in the u.s., they're usually called "napoleons."

altho we have a bakery called napoleon's out here, havent seen anything like that there.
in any case, would be perty difficult to beat vachon's product - have you ever seen/had them?
they were in a lot of the convenience stores and some of the supermarkets up country (in NH anyway) back in the 70's-80's - havent seen them on trips back east since, tho.
