The problem with the heavily bureaucratic plutocracy that has been built is that you know you are being oppressed, but who do you lash out against? You are being oppressed everywhere you go and many times the things oppressing you are faceless and in many ways invisible to you. It isn't like back in the days when the serfs could clearly see who held the reins. You might say that the president, congress, and all those figures are oppressing you, but who elected them? The American people. So they do have the approval of people even if it is not shared by everyone. You are being oppressed just as much by your neighbor as you are by the politicians.
