Thank you, sir. I am replacing old mercury-halogen lights with new LED lights in a chemical plant. 1,300 lights for one building!

Good to hear BadJuju. Seems like LED is a real trend. I'm curious if you know off hand which manufacturer made the LEDs. A close friend is attempting to establish a LED distribution/sales business for LEDs. As with any small business, it is much more difficult than it seems, especially considering the strong concept behind LED technology. If I recall correctly, they have a deal with an asian manufacturer and are seeking to cement an exclusive distribution deal in the US. Part of the problem of course is showing the manufacturer proof of concept which means landing jobs (or at least letters of intent) like the one to which you are contributing. I think financing is a key issue for a lot of organizations interested in making the switch which of course factors into inventory commitments at manufacturer/distro and on and on.

Any idea who makes them or even more curious on who distributes, if different than the manufacturer.

Again, congrats on the new gig.

I am not sure who distributes them or makes them, but I will look on Monday and report back. I will say that either the maker or distributor has really messed up the job. For nearly this entire week, we did not have any lights to install, so all we did was sit around, sleep, and play cards.

Funny that.....one of the things I'm trying to do is source LED 1w,3w,5w white lights for residential use.....the cost of electricity here is quite high, combined with extremely low incomes makes electrification a luxury for the wealthy.....bar the ability to find a means to dramatically reduce residential lighting-only costs.....so LEDs it may be.

I've got my first samples.....not too shabby.....not exactly equivalent light output/quality, but for a 95% savings in electricity cost...it's worth serious consideration.

No biggie either way, if you catch a name or some background on the deal it would be interesting but don't sweat it at all. Thanks for the response though. As for the slow week, makes for a smooth transition into the weekend. Have a good one.
