  • Jim Rogers: "Paper Money Is Made Of Cotton."

What has happened to Jim Roger's cotton investments?

    February 1, 2011
Paper Money Is Made Of Cotton.
"Paper money is made of cotton, and I'm long cotton, by the way. One reason I'm long cotton is because Dr. Bernanke is out there running the printing presses as fast as he can." - in Business Week
    Now we know what happened.

One would assume that Rogers is a buy and hold guy from your post, which I have a ard time believing.

I am personally long wheat and soy, except I have not grown it. That is because I am long farmland where I will grow it in the future.

I know for a fact that Rogers is long farmland in Brasil, and Soros is long farmland in Uruguay and who knows where else.

If Rogers went long cotton at the end of 2010, and sold close to the top, then he potentially doubled his money.

Since we have no idea what he did, this post makes little sense.

Jim Rogers has always said he is bad at timing, so he invests long term. He has advocated buying cotton in many of his past interviews with Bloomberg. China buys 40% of the world's cotton.

And here I thought most fiats were digits from a keyboard - subsequently I was long keyboards.

        Curses!
