China is short of water, oil and many resources. But there is huge resources in the north. I estimate that China must take control of Russia's resources by 2030 in order not to face an economic crisis.

I'd say that what China wants, isn't quite so easy when the owner is militarily stronger.
More importantly, until the US situation is resolved, China cannot afford to antagonize Russia.

What US situation? It's just trade dispute. The US buys China's goods. So what is China going to do? Attack the customer?
I don't think Russia is militarily stronger than China. Russian army and navy is a joke and breaking down as we speak. China is much richer and military wise is growing stronger by the day. China has a bigger population and a much larger economy than Russia.
Like Russia, China is an empire and has been expanding through the millenniums. It makes sense to expand north since there are natural resources that can be tapped with today's technology, unlike in the past when steppe is useless land.
It makes sense to go north instead of south because in the south you face many countries, plus US and even NATO whereas Russia is practically alone.Last edited by touchring; August 18, 2012, 01:05 PM.

At some point, decades in the future, this now-majority Chinese part of Russia with demand secession. No need for a China-Russia war and Russia will be hard-set politically to maintain control although there might indeed be an attempt to retain control by military means.
The new "nation" will maintain relations with both Russia and China but, if the incentives are high enough, could merge with China.

Why there are collisions between Chinese and American planes? Why the US continues to support Taiwan and any other neighbors of China in any dispute? Or the TAPP?

It sucks.
The Chinese who've moved there aren't farmers or herdsmen, they're traders buying up anything from tiger paws to nickel.
Hardly a prescription for long term mass migration.

Was the United States militarily weaker than Mexico? no.
Are the Chinese 'immigrants' in Siberia capable of fighting off the Russian army with only clandestine Chinese assistance? no.
Was Texas both a historical and an economic imperative for Mexico? no.
I'm afraid I don't see much parallel there at all.

Do you really believe there are genuine Communist Party leaders? The families of all communist party cadres are involved in commercial business.
Who cares about the country or ideology? Cadres can even sell their grandmas, not to mention their country out for money.
Bo Xilai and his promotion of the little red book. Now we know it's a sham. His family is involved in all sorts of shady business dealings.
Siberia and resource concessions is $$$ to the cadres.
