It occurs to me that a more likely "conspiracy theory" is somebody cut corners when building the buildings. A little less steal here, a little less support there. Pretty soon, you have a building that cannot take the collapse of another building 3 blocks away.

This was explicitly pointed out in the Cockburn article.

Being a reader of Tom Clancy, In "Debt of Honor" a fully fueled transcon 747 was augered into the Capitol. So for those who say "No one ever thought that a plane would be used as a missile" are misrepresenting the facts.

What about the pilot episode for the series 'the lone gunmen'? I'm sure it's the cause for some of these conspirational buffs say the planes were 'remote controlled'.
