  • In defense of Goldman.

What have we allowed into the world since Nixon knocked the last wedge away that held the ship of state out of the water
    Date: the future
    Place: A Court in America
The scene: Lloyd B in witness stand being grilled over ethics (and in the voice of Jack Nicholson)

You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth. Son, we live in a country with an investment gap. And that gap needs to be filled by men with money. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, Middle Class Consumer? Goldman Sachs has a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lehman and you curse derivatives. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what we know: that Lehman’s death, while tragic, probably saved the financial system. And that Goldman’s existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves pension funds. You don’t want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want us to fill that investment gap. You need us to fill that gap.

“We use words like credit default swaps, collateralized debt obligation, and securitization… We use these words as the backbone of a life spent investing in something. You use ‘em as a punchline. We have neither the time nor the inclination to explain ourselves to a commoner who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very credit we provide, and then questions the manner in which we provide it! We’d rather you just said thank you and paid your taxes on time. Otherwise, we suggest you get an account and start trading. Either way, we don’t give a damn what you think you’re entitled to!”

Yes so much truth covered by so many lies that we now HAVE to bend over and accept that we all, in some way are unwilling to face real reality, we all are not WILLING to take the haircut to our lifestyles. We secretly hope against hope that it will CHANGE but not If it effects our preconceived ideas on our lifestyles, our 'Dues" our retirement plans.
Who will stand and shout "Bring it down" knowing that if it falls we all fall but if it stays we face the outcome of Schrodingers Cat. I for one don't want to be alive but dead at the same time.
Damn you to Hell Nixon! Damn your weak nature, your blind acceptance of the banking cartels demands. Free us they said, Free us and we will expand exponentially the ability to create money (but they never told him of the debt). Free us and you can spend forever and never repay its worth. He listened and his dark side agreed and spoke "You are above God and the limits of his creation, should you accept. Accept and the whole World will be yours - If you don't people will hate you when you cut spending and you will be thought of as tyrant " - So he agreed and unleashed Hell and knocked the wedge from the chain and the whole World went down the slipway of debt only to drown.
Goldman and the 11 other disciple Banks ARE DOING GODS WORK. Care to guess which Chaps Calling the game plan.
P.S I hope the outcome is the same as the movie - But we are along way from Hollywood now Toto

http://baselinescenario.com/2010/04/...tch/#more-7226 - Tis truth about lies

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schr%C3%B6dinger's_cat - For Schrodingers cat - but only for sober people to understand
