Look at the badge which has wings on it with a 'B' in the middle in red. Next, look at the wheels with a large 'B' in the centre. It is one of their mega fast cars, which is faster than many sports cars! However, you pay for it!!!!!!!
Bentleys use a lot of RR parts.
(PS: look at the piece of paper on the road)

British defense and propulsion engineering firm Vickers sold Rolls Royce Motor Cars [which has owned Bentley since 1931] to Volkswagen in 1998, after a bidding war with BMW. At the time BMW was supplying V8 and V12 engines to Rolls Royce Motor Cars for both marques. The problem for VW was that the Rolls Royce name was owned by the maker of RR aero engines and used under license by the auto company.
BMW, which had long standing affiliations with RR Aero [BMW started life as an aircraft engine maker, and the BMW logo is a stylized spinning propeller] used that relationship and the threat of cutting off the engine supplies to extract Rolls Royce from Volkswagen.
The pic is of a Bentley Continental GT, the first "clean sheet" Bentley from Volkswagen after the split, and shares no components with BMW's Rollers. The engine is VW's famous 6-litre W12 [essentially two VR6 engine banks siamesed side-by-side to a common crankshaft] also used in the Audi A8, the Phaeton and the Touareg. The Bentley is all-wheel drive [good if you happen to be in northern Europe or the UK this week, apparently ;)].

Bentley has addressed this issue with two alternatives. At the 2005 Geneva auto show they introduced a 4-door version called the Continental Flying Spur - plenty fast, and plenty expensive, but not nearly as attractive as the GT, imo:
If that doesn't appeal, earlier this year Bentley introduced a "supercar" version of the Continental GT called the Supersports. Among other things they ditched the back seats completely, thereby saving 225 pounds of useless weight...after all there's no reason to make the 621 hp, 590 lb-ft twin turbo W12 work any harder than necessary, eh...
[the car weighs 5000 lbs but can still hit 100 mph in less than 9 seconds  ]
Never get a car nut started...when gold hits $10,000 an ounce I'm going to head down to the Bentley dealership and trade a mittful of Maple Leafs for a Continental GT...peak cheap oil can go to h***Last edited by GRG55; January 06, 2010, 11:48 PM.
