Yes, an event like hitting Iran's nukes would be very gold-friendly. But after a successful removal of Iran's threat, gold would likely sell-off sharply.

As far as the wisdom of hitting Iran, WONDERFUL. I am all for it. Love it.

I guess that makes me the fourth stooge, but toying-around and trying to appease or compromise with Arminishod is even more foolish. Arminishod is very serious: he plans to use atomic weapons against Isreal.

When one has a cancer, it is best to take dramatic steps and cut it out..... Best to remove Iran's nukes from the world as soon as possible. Maybe proceed to remove Arminishod and his radical clerics from the scene, too.

I sure as heck hope that was sarcasm. In case it wasn't here's a sarcastic way in which America is seen outside America:

I want gold to go up as much as anybody, but not at the cost of a single life. The vast majority of Iranians aren't crazy people. We're not dealing here with Al queida or a large number of religious extremists, only a small number of nutjobs with way too much power. Take out the nutjobs if you will... but let's not start nuking Iran for god's sake.

Obama will lose all credibility in my eyes the second he sanctions war with Iran. His financial *uckups are due to mass ignorance, at heart I think he is a common sense pragmatic guy and overall an excellent influential leader. I hope he doesn't screw it up.

No need to use nukes against Iran. Just a few surgical air strikes using conventional weapons are all that would be needed to remove Iran's two atomic bomb-making facilities. A few hits upon the government buildings in Tehran, and the cancer of Islamo-fascism would be cut-out.... The illness might re-occur, but the world would be just a bit safer, at least for a while.

A lesson from history pertinent to the present-day: If the world would have taken Adolf Hitler and his nazis seriously earlier than it did, if the world would have assassinated (sp?) Hitler and executed his nazis early-on, the whole tragedy of the Second World War might have been averted..... Seventy-five million lives lost in WWII might have been saved.

You might as well just nuke Mecca. When Muslims realize there god will not appear there because the place has been reduced to glass... they might wake up and realize their religion is bunk.

75 million lives? That is the biggest number I have ever read! Who cares about them? The population of the world has quadrupled since those days.

In any event, there is a notion of the zeitgeist... the spirit of the age. The rise of materialistic political philosophy had caused a radical shift in the relevance of culture in the day to day life of man. Whether it was Hitler or Showa, that time in history was ideal for a massive war against international finance capitalism and communism.

By the same token, Muslims today are fighting against this very same notion.

Simple survival is not enough. Underestimate the deep spiritual need of people to strive for the transcendent at your own peril.

Tell you what, go read this an educate yourself for once, instead of making an ass of yourself in public.

We got this right here in the western world, bro. It's called the G-20. The Fascists are fighting the islamic radicals. Islamic radicals are trying to bring down fascists world government. (One vision is a totalitarian economic state, there other is a religious theocracy, take your pick as to which you prefer. As for myself, I'll take NEITHER, thank you very ******* much!)

Do you see any STATE or Corporation benefiting from Radical islam? What about the G-20, do you see any state(s) or corporations benefiting from say, NAFTA, Outsourcing, currency depreciation, global banking, a corrupt political system, the financilization of the world economy, the protection of rent seeking and rackets, asset inflation.

Face it dude, the G-20 is the Fascist Government. No If's and's or but's. And if you are too blind to see it, well then you just go and drink the elixer of propaganda to your jingoism loving heart's content. ( Just to clarify, I'm not up for a religious theocracy of ANY KIND either, but BOTH prospects SUCK the sweat off a dead man's balls)

              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism

"a form of political behavior marked by obsessive preoccupation with community decline, humiliation or victimhood and by compensatory cults of unity, energy and purity, in which a mass-based party of committed nationalist militants, working in uneasy but effective collaboration with traditional elites, abandons democratic liberties and pursues with redemptive violence and without ethical or legal restraints goals of internal cleansing and external expansion"

              You say "Fascism", I say UK/USA/IMF, potato-potaatoe, tomato-tomaatoe.

Few? Taking out Iran's nuclear capability will require massive aerial bombardment.
Surgical? This adjective implies that only the nuclear facilities would be "removed." Facilities for making nuclear weapons in Iran are numerous and highly dispersed, with most of them in heavily-populated civilian areas, located among residential and commercial districts, near hospitals, schools, and the like. The bombing campaign that you propose would be a very messy surgery!

Two atomic bomb-making facilities? See above: "numerous and highly dispersed."

Steve, you are wrong about how easy it would be to damage Iran's nuclear facilities. I have read that they are so far underground that even bunker-busting bombs would not damage them much.

Psychosis (from the Greek ψυχή "psyche", for mind or soul, and -ωσις "-osis", for abnormal condition) literally means abnormal condition of the mind, and is a generic psychiatric term for a mental state often described as involving a "loss of contact with reality". People suffering from psychosis are said to be psychotic.
People experiencing psychosis may report hallucinations or delusional beliefs, and may exhibit personality changes and thought disorder.

I got my estimates of the death toll from WWII from the wikepedia here on the internet. The totals on the wikepedia range from 62 to 78 million people. Here is a bit of the break-down: China 10 to 20 million; Dutch East Indies 3 to 4 million, Indo-China <2 million, Germany 6.5 to 8.5 million; Greece <1 million, India 2 million, Japan 2.7million, Phillipines 1 million, Poland 5.7 million, Romania 0.8 million, USSR 24 million, Yugoslavia 1 million. And I have not mentioned those countries like Britain or Canada or America where the death toll was <0.5 million each. ( There were numerous such countries, too many to list here. )

Careful. Wars are easy to start but harder to end, and they can go in unexpected directions. Iran is a larger and more capable country than Iraq was. You should familiarize yourself with the SS-N-22 Sunburn missile. This article is a good start. http://www.rense.com/general59/theSu...ansawesome.htm

You may be very right. If so, and Arminishod's atomic bomb-making facilities are dispersed and numerous in Iran, the world may have already passed the point-of-no-return, and the world may now be facing nuclear war.
