      Oasis: Falling Down

The Gallagher brothers may be a pack of arrogant wankers, but they are talented.

This song is part of my personal soundtrack to this ongoing crisis.

      ----------

The summer sun, it blows my mind
Is falling down on all that I've ever known
Time will kiss the world goodbye
Falling down on all that I've ever known
Is all that I've ever known

A dying scream makes no sound
Calling out to all that I've ever known
Here am I, lost and found
      Calling out to all

      We live a dying dream
If you know what I mean
      All that I've ever known
It's all that I've ever known

Catch the wheel that breaks the butterfly
I cried the rain that fills the ocean wide
I tried to talk with God to no avail
Calling Him in and out of nowhere
Said if You won't save me, please don't waste my time

      All that I've ever known
      All that I've ever known
It's all that I've ever known

Catch the wheel that breaks the butterfly
I cried the rain that fills the ocean wide
I tried to talk with God to no avail
Calling my name and out of nowhere
Said if You won't save me, please don't waste my time

The summer sun, it blows my mind
It's falling down on all that I've ever known
Time will kiss the world goodbye
Falling down on all that I've ever known
Is all that I've ever known

The arts flourish in times of prosperity, but we need them most to uplift us during hard times. Good thread, WildspitzE!

Here's a site I use when I want to find other recordings by the same artist(s) or other versions of the same tune recorded by different artists: muzakbox.com. Search for Muse and 50 recordings are listed, mostly with video. These recordings play in order. Search for Falling Down (advanced search), and 19 recordings are displayed; most of these are by different artists.

I am usually listening to something on muzakbox while reading iTulip.

some more muse for those that dig them...

                  Unnatural Selection, The Muse

"They'll laugh as they watch us fall,
The lucky don't care at all,
                  No chance for fate,
                  It's unnatural selection,
                  I want the truth

I am hungry for some unrest,
I want to push this beyond a peaceful protest,
I wanna speak in a language that they'll understand

                  Dedication to a new age,
Is this the end of destruction and rampage?
Another chance to erase it then repeat it again

                  Counterbalance this commotion,
We're not droplets in the ocean,
                  Ocean

They'll laugh as they watch us fall,
The lucky don't care at all,
                  No chance for fate,
                  It's unnatural selection,
                  I want the truth

                  No religion or mind virus,
Is there a hope that the facts will ever find us,
Just make sure that you are looking out for number 1

I am hungry for some unrest,
Let's push this beyond a peaceful protest,
I wanna speak in a language that you will understand

                  Counterbalance this commotion,
We're not droplets in the ocean,
                  Ocean

They'll laugh as they watch us crawl,
The lucky don't share at all,
No hope for fate, it's a random chance selection,
                  I want the truth

Try to ride out the storm,
Whilst they'll make you believe, that they are the special ones, (we have not been chosen),
                  Injustice is the norm,
You won't be the first and you know you won't be the last

                  Counterbalance this commotion,
We're not droplets in the ocean,
                  Ocean, ocean, ocean

They'll laugh as they watch us fall,
Unlucky, they don't care at all,
                  No chance for fate,
                  It's unnatural selection,
                  I want the truth,
                  I want the truth,

I got my cloak and dagger
                        In a bar room brawl
See the local loves a fighter
                        Loves a winner to fall

Why don't you remember my name?
                                Off with his head, man
                                Off with his head, man
Why don't you remember my name? I guess he does...

                                Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me
                                From a great height
                                From a great height... height...
                                Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me
                                From a great height
                                From a great height... height...
                                Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me

                                That's it sir
                                You're leaving
                                The crackle of pigskin
                                The dust and the screaming
                                The yuppies networking
                                The panic, the vomit
                                The panic, the vomit
God loves his children, God loves his children, yeah!"
