Re: I wish to write an Articale for I tulip

I say let Mike post an article. He does ALOT of work on this blog, and seems to be a decent enough chap. And to all you "Websters" out there, take a chill pill.

Sent the draft to me, Mike. I'll edit it for you. Thanks.

That is in bad taste Lukester, Its well known Stockman wears the hat to cover up his very pointy head. Please refrain from any conehead jokes on this forum.

That's an unfair advantage Flintlock. Sometimes these coneheads are suspected of packing an extra few cubic centimeters of grey matter up there under the hat brim, and who ever is setting this contest should be handicapping these guys properly - getting them staggered back at least a couple laps behind us at the starting gun. I don't like the way this race is being handicapped here, putting the coneheads up at the same starting line as all the rest of us.

            Thanks Fred
However I given it some thought & i will not proceed. Apron reflex ion I now see that your front pages is a different matter to the BB. Its where professionals get to post their thoughts & however hard I might try I not sure I could meet the standard required.
What I was going to do was write a bit on the changing fortune of the US
It staggered on, but events changed as did world history…..it couldn’t adapt to its new environment. Like a dinosaur its time had come and gone…..like the $ I was going to close with a photo of a stripped/wrecked F14 at the “Bone Yard”.
The article was to be called “Yee Ha, Jesters Dead”.
            Never mind.
On a Personal note i like to thank those for your vote of goodwill. As for Metal Man?.............Who cares.
            Mike

              I care.

              Metalman is...

              1] Funny as %$#@.

2] Posts great pictures and graphics.

3] Does a great job of reminding many posters of the iTulip thesis, including taking the time and effort to posts links to the source material.

4] Is an active and long term contributor to the site. Definitely a top 10 favorite regular.

The site would be a lot less entertaining without his light-hearted, but message-centric take on things.

Metal is to iTulip what Google is to the Internet. He's the god damn Dewey Decimal System of EJs thesis. A year ago I would look through EJs posts and a half hour later wonder if Fred posted it and then give up. I was always trying to find something EJ said about [file in the blank], now I just search Metal's posts and I'll find he's referenced it for someone new to iTulip along with five other associated threads.

That said, Mike's a great iTulip resource. He's a frenetic serial thread starter and only about 1:10 are worth opening but he's got his hand on the iTulip community pulse and occasionally he poses a question that's pure genius. If you try to value Mike's input here by the characters he types you'll miss the point. Gauge the response and level of thought that follows his posts. This thread is a good example.

The Mike vs. Metal show is not the main event, they're sometimes just warming the crowd up with coarse discourse.

You could bounce it off a couple of trusted iTulipers before you send it off to FRED if you saw fit.

You never get a second chance at a first impression...or a first post. Opportunity missed.
