  • Striking sentence from UK Chancellor

Just finished listening to the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer give his budget speech in the House of Commons. One sentence stood out above all others and left me asking what the implications were. To my mind a very Freudian slip.... is this a recognition of a 100% inflation to come?

But I ask others to also give their take on these words.

"World economy to double in size."

Chris, what a shambolic budget - increased spending, increased government debt, more handouts to prop up the ailing house market, car industry and banks. He (Darling) also spoke more than once about expectations for deflation in December 2009.

When will the public get tired of their lies and deceit?

I have just had this question put up on the Times:

"3 million jobs at, say, £25,000 per job equity capital investment to create them requires £75 billion equity capital investment from the nations savings. There is no debate about the capital investment needed nor about including the savings institutions in the policy decisions to repair the economy."

        http://business.timesonline.co.uk/to...MC-Bltn=KLZHIA

There is no mention anywhere about the need for investment outside of government expenditure and what he has described is derisory.

All these grants to this or that are really the extra money to keep the civil servants in a job and very little will trickle down to those in real need.

Mega, you need to go back to the 1960's when the £UK was finally struggling against the might of the $US. Before that time, the £UK was the primary currency and there was a lot of it in circulation, as the same applies today to the $US. The result is that, even though we are nowhere near what we were a half century ago, there is still life in the old dog.....

I think he's been eating those mushrooms again. Like when el Gordo said he 'saved the world'
