          I don't mind a bit of cussing but what I really dislike is generalizations and stereotyping. Some of my best friends are sailors and they don't cuss anymore than anyone else that I have ever heard. But everytime it seems that cussing is mentioned well, there they go again, laying a bum rap on sailors. It's enough to make a body go out and %(*^, @^_!

            What I never got about the US is the no cussing on Radio and TV, plus no boobs on TV.

              Not all popular sayings are necessarily correct or meaningful. Check out "right as rain." Completely meaningless as far as I can tell.
