Re: Its coming, its almost here

      From Celente's Transcript:

It’s not communism where the state controls monopolies – it’s fascism, plain and simple. The merger of corporate and government powers. State-controlled capitalism is called fascism, and fascism has come to America in broad daylight. But they’re feeding them it in little bits and pieces. First AIG was too big to fail. Mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were too big to fail. Banks too big to fail and auto companies. And now we give money to the people that make the auto parts. And now there’s talk about the technology companies, wanting their piece of the action. The merger of state and government is called fascism. Take it from Mussolini; he knew a thing or two about it.
I note the TOO BIG TO FAIL. It is all too TOO BIG TO FAIL. I would add the War Racket to this also. They are TOO BIG TO FAIL with their two disasters in Afghanistan and Iraq which require more and more bailout money with no possible return on the "investments".

Damn it, man. We were vigilant to the point of being obsessive about communism...we have been fighting against the far left and their socialism...all the while fascism has stealthily crept in the back door! How many "ism's" are there and how do we stop them all?

Maybe it's time instead for individualism?
        Or Patriotism?
Or Sarcasm? (okay, that's a stretch)

A bit of nihilism is hard to avoid . . .

1 and 3 work for me, I certainly don't think patriotism is part of the solution.

Re: Its coming, its almost here

I have never been into conspiracies, but looking at the current events makes me wonder. Are the central banks really the ones in charge, running the front men like Bush and Obama? On a resent flight to London

                Quote from the book.
“One of the purposes of setting up the Central Bank was to see that any loses at the banks would be put onto the tax payer”
Don’t think that I gave any thought to that when I first read the book years ago. Sounds a bit familiar today.
I am going to go play with my kids and forget that I even thought about this stuff for awhile, I really hope it is all bull shit. But it has me wondering.

I disagree. Perhaps if we loved our countries more, we would all be more concerned with its government, its future, and the welfare of its citizens. Personally, I do not have this much patriotism.* If this place becomes unbearable, I am leaving.

The more I look at it , the more I think that the only solution is going to be a total collapse of the economy. Maybe the Japanese and Chinese can help the U.S. recover, not unlike how the U.S. helped rebuild Japan & Europe after WWII.

                  * I do not know anybody in their 30s who is patriotic. What happened to us? We used to march in the streets for stuff... Vietnam, civil rights, even WWII. There are probably other examples, but hell, half of us do not even bother voting anymore!

Thanks. Feeling better about the AU today? I would say it outperfomed most any other asset today.

When I think of patriotism, I think of the 'America is #1' attitude, a sense of exceptionalism and entitlement, that we are the greatest country there ever was, etc. I think of patriotism as yellow ribbons on car trunks, and see it as a distraction of the masses from what is really happening.

Perhaps my main beef is with nationalism, not patriotism, if there is a difference. I'm all for patriotism to the extent it implies love and willingness to sacrifice for many of the principles on which the country was founded.

Re: Its coming, its almost here

There was a good post on Corporate Personhood on 11-30-07 which is very relevant to Celente's comments. This post was made well before the current Collapse:

To Restore Democracy: First Abolish Corporate Personhood
                          http://www.itulip.com/forums/showthr...ate+personhood

Personally, I have always viewed Corporations as having a potential for great evil unless controlled. The evil is now upon us. Is control even possible now?
